On line access to ALL SPC's and PILs (not just those on the emc)

I co-ordinate the production of the Injectable medicines guide website which is widely used in clinical areas when IV drugs are prepared and administered. Each monograph includes the emc link to the relevant SPC and PIL. Currently it is very hard to add spc'S and PILS to the website if they are not on the emc. Industry websites are often hard to search or do not include the required SPC and PILs We reluctantly have to currently scan and add SPCs and PILs as a link which are unavailable from emc. This is time consuming and unsatisfactory as it is difficult to update. Linking to an online MHRA SPC and PIL site would solve this problem. It would be very useful to also have a link to current package inserts.
Why the contribution is important
SPC's and PIL's are required as back up information for all people who prescribe, prepare and administer injectable drugs.

This could be very useful and save time. It would encourage checking when using polypharmacy

EMC is fine. I have serious doubts about MHRA wasting time and money on this exercise. Perhaps they could hire more assessors instead.

EMC is flawed as it only contains the SPCs for the companies that pay to list them. availability of all SPCs on line managed by MHRA would ensure that the healthcare professional would have access to the correct information and not take a risk associated with assuming that one generic product is the same as another
