Interactive database

Patients or individuals should be able to  enter the medication and conditions they are taking on the database and if there are any contraindications or interactions with these medications it should be indicated in A RED ALERT and flagged so they would know.  This should also have the options to put in alternative therapies and medications or herbs as these are commonly used and are available without prescription from a GP.

Ultimately individuals are responsible for their own health and should have an active role in decdision making.

If this data is stored then if there is a recall or discontinuation of the use of a drug the individual should be  alerted automatically via email or text. Prompting a visit ot GP/ DR  to have medication changed  to alternative. This database could be used for additional purposes also for eg: renewing prescriptions if done on line that is 1 less visit to GP'S surgery. Your chemist is automatically updated on the renewal and individuals can contact them  to find out what time would be good for collection, instead of waiting 15-25 mins there when you turn a script.

i agree as all to often things change and the person perscibed the medication is not informed untill a repeat perscription is raised or a visit is undertaken, doctors can make mistakes so it is a good idea to have patient input as back up.
